Hotdog! Two More weeks!

Quick update about the timing of Julie’s bone biopsy because that test sets the timing for her next round of consolidation chemotherapy. Just as we were pleasantly surprised that Julie CRUSHED induction so hard that they had to release her early (or the love reaction would blow), we found out yesterday that her biopsy will not be for another two weeks.

Un-affectionately nicknamed “Luky,” (short for leikemia) Alvin has used this toy to channel his mad, mysterious misfit powers in the name of love.

That puts her at home for two-and-a-half more weeks!

We’ve been monitoring Jules’ vitals and her pulse and blood pressure are superb, super-human level, really. Her last blood panel was, likewise, outstanding. All the beautiful critters in her bone marrow are growing up, leaving the nest, and doing the work they’re designed to do, giving Julie Wolverine-levels of vitality, strength and regenerative abilities.

(One of Julie’s visualizations through this process has involved Alvin making his way through her bloodstream, attacking and destroying deadbeat cancer cells. The husband and his faithful hobgoblin even decorated one of Alvin’s toys to remind the dog of these nightly hunts.)

We’ll post the next update when we know more.

Thank you all for your kindness, coolness, and emotional support!

Randy

Hi all – I just wanted to let you know that Randy has read me all of your comments over these past weeks. I may not have responded, but I’ve heard and felt each of your notes – so thank you!

Camp Kickass is a turtle marathon and for this particular type of cancer, it’s going to take endurance to “go for the gold” as my supportive supervisor has called it (and the cure = life = all the gold in the world).

Turtles have big backs and your love, prayers and support makes for a lighter load. So hop on board for the turtle marathon! And away we (very slowly) go! 🙂

I knew it – it’s turtles all the way down!

I’m happy to hear the good news and I hope I can lend my back (minus the herniated disk at L5 of course) to the infinite column of turtles providing support all the way down….
