Hi all,
I just wanted to send a quick update: Julie is experiencing some generic symptoms of the chemotherapy — mostly fatigue and an unpleasant / heightened sense of smells and flavors — but is doing well. The hospital has done a few transfusions and are proactively treating her with medications designed to stave off infection, which is typical.
(Her doc, Christi Ann Hayes, told us before she went in that this would be standard care.)
The Dartmouth-Hitchcock team of nurses, doctors, interns, and case managers have been wonderful to Jules. She has been amazed at their ability to check her vitals without disturbing her (healthcare ninjas!), and we appreciate the wonderful care.
